Gordon Kinnear
Managing Director
Gordon has been with Optimise since its inception in 1989. He applied his programming and accounting skills to creating new and better business systems for furniture retailers, distributors, hiring companies and debt collectors. By the mid 1990’s, with many of our hiring companies and debt collectors being taken over, he decided to concentrate on the retailing and distribution software. While successfully leading the development team, he has also been involved in sales activities with his enthusiasm and extensive product knowledge helping to establish Optimise Solutions as a market-leading product and expanding the client base. “What I enjoy most is the positive feedback from clients, happy that a program I wrote or supplied has made a real difference to their business or made their tasks easier. I think we have the perfect team in place and with our excellent products, ideas and enthusiasm I am confident we can bring the benefits of our systems to many more businesses.”
Andrew Coates
Director
Andrew came to Optimise Solutions via a circuitous route. Having graduated with a degree in Photography, Film and Television he spent a year as a photographic assistant before realising his talents would be better employed elsewhere. Returning to uni he found that a course in Information Systems offered far greater opportunities. Two years later with an MSc and some part-time lecturing experience under his belt he joined Norwich Union as a member of the Life and Pensions Business Systems Technical team. Later joining Optimise Solutions, he has been responsible for developing the Service Request module and driving the improvements in interface usability and programme functionality. While not at work Andrew divides his time between his family, wife Victoria, son Findlay, newly born Edward, and training and competing as a member of the Scottish small-bore rifle team.
Adam Lockwood
Director
Adam has had a long and varied career in IT. He was previously Technical Director of Investment Software Solutions, providers of software to administer client investments for various high profile financial institutions. After selling ISS, Adam looked for new challenges and joined Optimise Solutions excited by the prospect of integrating the Optimise softwares with eCommerce packages to offer an innovative one stop shop web system. "I believe that retailers and traders have been sold short by the current web offerings. I wanted to build an easy to use ecommerce website system that could be automatically updated just through the day-to-day processes involved in the running of a business."
Kathir ‘Sid’ Vel
Marketing Consultant
Sid completed his BSc in Visual Communications and worked as a Web Developer and Graphic Designer for top IT brands in India. Keen to test film and advertising waters, he took up a production and creative role with Mr. Rajiv Menon (highly acclaimed advertising and Bollywood producer). After five years of media experience, Sid relocated to Scotland to pursue Masters of Business Administration. He now manages and provides marketing and web strategies to drive our company towards the future. Corporate videos, newsletters, websites, designing, programming, marketing, search engine optimisation, and his skills list goes on.
